WHO WILL TELL YOU?

What is it that’s holding you back from realizing your greatest potential? Elite athletes and executives have coaches, often psychologists who understand the mind and how experiences can limit you. At DTSpade, all Partners have access to our own PhD psychologist who helps us understand what skills we can lean on and what landmines we need to navigate around in order to reach out highest performing potential. This week, we’ll meet with a half-day session on teambuilding with our Industrial Psychologist.

IMPROVE YOUR CRAFT, IMPROVE YOUR LIFE

What is the secret to happiness? I’m sure I don’t know, but the University of Texas’ Raj Raghunathan applies data to show that increasing your skill at something you love is a great indicator of increasing happiness and reinforces our belief that BROKENNESS + WORK = HOMECOMING.

THIS SHOULDN'T HURT A BIT

What if providing great service isn’t enough? What if the experience and satisfaction of knowing how excellently a Client has been represented is just as important as the results? If you drive the finest automobile ever made, but no one bothered to tell you the excellence that went into crafting it, have you really gotten your full value? The Experience Economy helps understand the levels of excellence required in SERVICE = HONOR.

Never Bet Against Hope

If given the choice between more revenue/pay or a true hope in the future, which would you choose? We’ve learned from Kahneman that we’re risk avoiding with gains and risk taking with losses, but studies show that hopelessness creates all sorts of problems for societies. The very value BROKENNESS + WORK = HOMECOMING exemplifies the hope that we see on the solution side of our equation.

Money Balling Real Estate

Israeli economists Amos Tversky and Daniel Kahneman (respectively awarded the McArthur Genius Grant and the Nobel Prize for Economics for their work in the field) created hundreds of experiments proving that rational and intelligent people make irrational decisions under certain circumstances. If our Clients are the good guys (and they are), understanding how those on the other side of the table can be convinced to make irrational decisions is part of DTSpade’s training curriculum and an example of GROWTH^3.

SIOR Fall World Conference in New York City

As America shifted into a war footing prior to WWII, the President asked the National Association of Realtors to create a designation that would quickly identify the best brokers nationally. America needed competent, skilled brokers with integrity to meet the nation’s objectives. SIOR continues to identify community-based real estate brokers who exhibit excellence in skill, education and execution. DTSpade’s participation in this organization is one way we exhibit SERVICE = HONOR in the marketplace.

My Time With the Netanyahu Brothers

“When you are wounded, and alone, in the midst of a scorched field, surrounded by smoke — mushrooms of smoke from exploding shells, with your arm shattered and burning with a terrible pain,” he wrote to his parents, “then life becomes more precious and craved-for than ever. You want to embrace it and go on with it, to escape from all the blood and death, to live, live, even without hands and feet, but breathing, thinking, feeling, seeing.” writings of Yoni Netanyahu teach us about (I + MY NEIGHBOR) / MY LOVE

The Weight of Glory

C.S. Lewis famous closing “The load, or weight, or burden of my neighbour’s glory should be laid daily on my back, a load so heavy that only humility can carry it, and the backs of the proud will be broken. It is a serious thing to live in a society of possible gods and goddesses, to remember that the dullest and most uninteresting person you talk to may one day be a creature which, if you saw it now, you would be strongly tempted to worship, or else a horror and a corruption such as you now meet, if at all, only in a nightmare. All day long we are, in some degree, helping each other to one or other of these destinations. It is in the light of these overwhelming possibilities, it is with the awe and the circumspection proper to them, that we should conduct all our dealings with one another, all friendships, all loves, all play, all politics. There are no ordinary people. You have never talked to a mere mortal. . .” shows us a glimpse of our neighbor and how to move into (I + MY NEIGHBOR) / MY LOVE
