“Right now someone is praying for something you take for granted.”

NATIONAL DUDLEY ON THINGS WE TAKE FOR GRANTED
We’ve all done it, but how many of us actually catch ourselves and recognize the pettiness of some of our prayers and wishes?
Some of us pray to get that next big promotion, or to pass an upcoming final exam. Our kids pray for lots of presents at Christmas time, while we pray for the ability to take them to Disney World again. But I challenge you to remember that someone down the street from you is praying that their child’s cancer is cured, or that they can come up with the cash to keep a roof over their family’s heads. Somewhere around the world, a village is praying for clean water to drink, and a little girl is wishing she could go to school. Entire countries are praying that their children will one day live in peace.
So, next time you’re inclined to say a prayer, ask for the ability to never lose sight of all the things you have to be thankful for. After all, we live a pretty blessed life here, and a whole lot of it was merely by chance.
