“What would your company look like if it were fully alive?”

NATIONAL DUDLEY ON BEING FULLY ALIVE
ABC News reported on a study that 70 percent of workers dream of having another job and 29 percent had little time to reflect on their work. Medscape’s survey indicated that if you’re in an ER, you have a greater than 1 in 2 chance of seeing a burned out physician.
So what would it look like to refocus 70% of your workforce on their current job?
As a young and growing company, we have certain advantages in this. There’s nowhere to hide and we can afford to come together more often. But we’ve also taken time each week to meet and talk about our vision (IMAGINE OUR CITY. BUILD THAT CITY.) and our mission and values.
It felt like too much at first and in the middle, but after a year, I’m beginning to see value in it. We’ve connected our Partners to the work we’ve done in the community. HIV and Behavioral Health patients will have an entirely different experience because of our work in our city. And our Partners recognize that they are a part of that experience for those patients.
For a company to be fully alive, the staff must be fully alive. How have you seen that happen?
