“For so I loved _______, that I gave _______.”

NATIONAL DUDLEY ON SACRIFICE
I sacrifice for myself every day. I pay for things I want and spend time doing things I enjoy. My default is to give selflessly—when it comes to myself. Said another way, a guy in a Men’s group once said, “I’m not much, but I’m all I think about.”
The denominator in a fraction defines the number? 48 / 10 is essentially saying, “How many tens in 48?” When we include our neighbor in the equation, we’re asking how much love do we give each of those numerators?
Lifework Leadership is a program for businesspeople to live their faith fully in the marketplace and in one session, Steve asked us to complete the above. It reminded me that there are things I say I love, but just consume—like coffee or BBQ.
But those things I truly love, I give for. I sacrifice for those things. I sweat for those things. I think about those things.
What do you think about this? What are some other ways to tease out what we love?
