“Money is a great supporting actor but a terrible leading actor.”
– Jack Alexander, The Reimagine Group
DTSpade ON MONEY AS A LEAD ACTOR
Some people spend a lifetime building a fortune and THEN give it away. Jack gave as he built and reminded me of the joy of generosity.
I’ve lived in pursuit of money. I’ve had money as my lead actor. I’ve told myself that it’s an ensemble cast. There’s integrity and professionalism and family and other faith cast, too. But when it comes to money, it’s like Kevin Spacey in the Usual Suspects—name one other actor in the ensemble.
Sooner or later, it’s just money.
But that doesn’t mean not to cast it. As a recovering addict, I’m learning that money makes a great tool, but a terrible idol.
The way that Jack talked about generosity at Lifework Leadership was intoxicating. He’s put it all into an online program at the Reimagine Group if you’re interested.
